Gaming Gear to Adore

I’ve noticed that ever since I bought a PS4 over a year ago there is nothing that I enjoy more than staying home and lounging around gaming.  One of my go to items is becoming yoga pants and a comfy top, plus with cats that get cat hair errrywhere I like to have “house clothes” and these work out great.  Plus sometimes I’m motivated to work out in an attempt to get back into shape and well nothing inspires me to do that more than fab workout clothes, am I right?  But who has that kind of time to shop for fun and maybe tres chic activewear?  Not I.  Enter subscription boxes….

Now I’m sure you’ve all heard about these.  You sign up to a brand (Julep, StichFix, Lost Blvd) and get monthly goodies delivered right to your door.  Try it, like it, keep it.  Pretty simple right?  Well if you’re like me maybe on occasion you want something, dare I say sexy???? Enter Adore Me.   What started out as a lingerie box subscription has also added on plus and activewear.   So like most services you take a quick quiz and they curate items for you.  Behold the magic of SCIENCE!  Then you pick and they ship it, like it, keep it.  It’s almost like a direct to consumer merchant so they can offer super great items at lower prices.  So here I’m thinking what a great idea this is.  Plus (I hope you’re not reading this mom) I can buy sexy undergarments….and not leave my apartment to do this.  Because that is soooooo 90’s…#aintnobodygottimeforthat

Look as women we all ENJOY wearing something sexy under our clothes and Adore Me’s mantra is “Its about what you leave on”.  Nothing can make us feel more empowered and confident then a great set of under garments (not to mention slimmer) trust me.  A new bra and I’m visually 10lbs lighter.  Go get a fitting and see.   I mean they are SO much more than just bra’s and panties now, so there is sure to be something for everyone.  Want to stay motivated to slay that workout?  Athleisure is not a new trend but seems to persist and Adore Me has some super cute styles, so you can look good either gaming or doing that downward dog pose. And even though I’m sitting around killing bosses and finding mystical quests, maybe I want to feel sexy yah dig?  Also nothing is better than a matching set and ladies is 2017, lets get with it.  Please invest in at least 2 matching sets of bra and panties (#stayclassy) and you can thank me later.  Wear it the next time you go for groceries, yoga or that Monday meeting and just see how you feel.

So click over and sign up today, refer a friend and get $15.  AND they have an app should you want to be strictly mobile, cause you know like why not? Treat yourself to some new gear and I’m sure the price will be just as good as waiting until someone has a sale.

P.S. FREE EXCHANGES-easy peasy ladies….

Me, Myself and Eye

I hate myself in swimsuits and lingerie.  Now before you think I’m simple going to bash my body and I’m fishing for compliments, stop I’m not.  I want to simply say that like 100% of all women I too struggle with self esteem and body issues. This is the first bathing suit I’ve bought in longer than I care to remember that I feel slightly good about being in.  And I just want to let others know that it’s ok to have moments of doubt.

I recently saw a video on fb about achieving the “bikini body” that the media and society think I should have and I got to thinking about my own thoughts.  Now roll with me through this journey for a minute, I hate long posts because I know most people don’t have the attention span to keep reading(I’m in marketing after all).  We are all taught (men and women) that there are body ideals and if we fail to fit into that we are somehow less than perfect.  I’ve read countless articles about obtaining said body and counter arguments about it.  Let me say I know we are all beautiful and all that jazz, but how many times does that ugly face rear its head to say your not? (Ummm hellooooo right here!).  And I’ve struggled with my own issues about my body and compared it to others.

I bought this majestic piece from Rigby&Peller for $200. Yes $200…because guess what, I’ve learned that quality will always triumph over quantity anyway when it comes to certain things. And also I’ve reached a point (35) where quite frankly my dear IDGF.  I’m not buying a cheap swim suit and then be uncomfortable in it. In trying it on I had the associate in stiches laughing. Because I use sarcasm as a way to deflect compliments and insults, often making them before others. Because guess what, it hurts a little less that way.  We live in a society that is constantly judging, from clothes, jobs, schooling, partners to even where you get your fucking groceries from. We’ve allowed social media to warp our ideals and judgements about people, and pump your brakes tanto, yea I’m guilty as well.

My friends tell me how good I look, and I see the response from the opposite sex (sometimes same sex..) but it’s not what I see. Often I see so many people struggle with body image and I wish it wasn’t so.

I guess I’m just trying to excercise my own demons about body issues and just to let others know it’s ok to have moments of meh, but don’t let that be your only moments. Look for people that inspire you and keep everything in perspective. Life is short, do you really want to be on your death bed wishing you hadn’t been so caught up?

Let me know your thoughts peeps! P.s also include some others I tried on 🤔 and thanks for listening. 😘

All Black OOTD’s (A few days in review)

So for today’s post I thought that I would bring you some of the outfits I wore this week.  As I’ve said before most everything is old and I re-wear clothes (oh the humanity!).  But because I take care of them they continue to live.  I took the photos on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to show you what my typical outfits look like.  Now because I live in NYC black is the go to option for most everything (see Monday and Wednesday) and let’s face it, it’s easy.  It’s like black is quintessential to being a NY’er. No other city does all black as well as NYC and in a city that is this dirty and grimy black is it. I found a great article that I think sums it up from The Cut.  “We wear black because we’re not tourists here to see a show; because we are, in a sense, with the band. The band is New York, and the color is black.” As they say, all black eurrything….

Friday is all about jeans and my new top from Banana (Yea I treated myself gurl).  Now mind you all week I have rocked my little anorak jacket from Old Navy that I bought like 6 years ago.  Best $5 spent and like all things, take care of your stuff and things will last.

My point is this invest in quality pieces (take your cues from Europeans) and layer in fun throw away pieces that are trendy.  Not only does it make dressing easier but it’s fiscally sound and leaves you more money to go do shit like eating with friends, movies, and the stuff people do.

So here is the run down

All the jewelry is mostly Chloe+Isabel with some personal pieces

Clothing is a mix of Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, LOFT, New Balance and Aldo Shoes because guess what at a certain point you know what brands work with your body type and these are it.

All my photos are taken with my trusty iPhone because guess what I don’t have anyone to take them for me.  But I like to think you , my readers, are ok with that because guess what…it makes me normal like you.  I also don’t filter anything or retouch I want you to see the real me.  Now I want to go on a shopping bender…FML #adulting sucks

Creatures of Comfort

Professionalism.  Dressed to the nines.  Looking the part. These are phrases that one hears upon entering the work force, but in today’s age they don’t have the same meaning as they did 10 years ago.  How many times have you gotten dressed in your “professional attire” to only feel confined into something more restrictive than a boa constrictor?  Don’t get me wrong, I love the pulled together look of Joan Halloway (Mad Men?), Jackie Kennedy, Dior’s New look or almost every fashionista or blogger.  Plus most millennials are wearing jeans daily along with sneakers, so the expectation of what is professional is shifting.  But let’s not get it twisted, upper management is still the Gen X’ers who expect you to look put together.  However the sucky reality is that I work in an office and often over sleep.  So my mornings consist of pulling together an outfit and trying to getting out the door.  Sadly most women’s work fashion isn’t comfortable or very versatile.  This means time lost as you debate on what to put on, before prob settling on something you wore two days prior.  I mean have you tried to put on a satin top with pleats, and you’re busty? Black slacks that are cut for a size 6 fit model, not a real size 14? Or if you’re on your period just forget being comfortable. I mean what if there was a company that made COMFORTABLE work attire….

And then there was Betabrand! So in my ongoing search for great clothing that is a bit more conscious I discovered this great San Francisco based clothing company.  The brand crowd funds ideas (think yoga dress pants, travel gear, to a metallic yarmulke).  They help get the designs funded, and everything is customer driven (models, advertising, and even designers).  So in trolling the site I came across their women’s pants, more specifically THE dress yoga pants.  I mean what’s in a name? Shakespeare?  No idea what I mean?  Ok, lets spell it out, DRESS YOGA PANTS… fit+comfort+stretch=work day awesomeness. I mean whoever thought of this is genius.  Taking the best of work attire and blending with comfort.  (insert happy dance).  Plus they come in a multitude of colors and cuts.  BUT THERES MORE! So I got to stalking the site and noticed that everything they offer transitions from work, to casual to even travel.  Plus it’s all great staple items that I know you have for yeeears! They also have denim, dresses, skirts and tops!  Plus this is great as I’m all about supporting local business and Betabrand helps me to do that.  Which makes me think, do you even know how great these dressy yoga pants would be for dinner dates single ladies??? I mean DO YOU? (sorry tangent thought)

Now we all know that Monday thru Thursday we still need to keep it profesh and honestly you need a top for those pants right?  I found this great paw print top from Betabrand (and I ❤ cats) that would be great for a Monday meeting or running errands.  So then I got to website stalking and went to one of my fave sites, Ann Taylor.  And honestly Ann Taylor is giving me some life right now with the spring collection and the crossover between work and casual.  This Palm print top is great under a cardigan or blazer, but also great with jeans for casual Friday or drinks. I love pieces that are easy and versatile and can be layered, because how often does your office go from Siberia to Africa?

So don’t just take my word but head over and check out the collection of women’s pants (here) and maybe even invest in an upcoming idea and get a discount!  And check out all the great photos.

P.S I too do a yoga pose when opening doors, opens my Chi as well…oh and they have a men’s line as well BTDubbs

A medley OOTD’s

I have to say that my recent blogging has been atrocious….and for that I apologize but I’m sure you all can relate that sometimes life hits you like a sledgehammer.  So in an effort to get back on the ball I am posting about my past two days of outfits.  Now if you follow the fashiondeed you’ll prob notice that a lot of these items are on repeat.  Because like 95% of America I cant afford to be buying new ish every posting, nor am I famous enough to get gifted.

So yesterday was the classic all black NY chic ensemble (work appropriate)

Today is about that casual summer vibe, as if you know and live on the east coast you know that its like 70

Both outfits feature chloe+Isabel jewelry (like you need to ask!)

What are your fave pieces? Do you like what I’m posting?  Tell a gurl what you’re liking (or disliking) as I’d like to know.
